Surgical dermatology services
Subi Derm is equipped to provide a range of surgical dermatology services in our dedicated surgical procedure room.
Surgical procedures include:
- Biopsies of skin rashes and skin lesions: A sample of skin tissue is taken to help determine a diagnosis which will assist in providing the best care for the individual problem
- Curettage of lesions: An ideal technique to remove superficial benign lesions including large seborrheic keratoses, molluscum lesions and small epidermal naevi, or superficial skin cancers such as superficial basal cell carcinomas
- Cautery (diathermy) treatments: A useful technique for benign superficial lesions including large seborrheic keratoses, small facial lumps due to benign sebaceous gland overgrowth and milium.
- Surgical excision of benign skin lesions: Suitable for benign moles, skin tags, cysts and other conditions
- Surgical excision of skin cancer and melanoma lesions.
All biopsies and surgical excisions are sent to a specialist skin pathologist for analysis and reporting.
