Referrals
A referral assists the doctor to understand your clinical health concerns, which can assist booking the correct appointment type.
How do I get a referral?
When you next see your General Practitioner to discuss your medical concern, you can obtain a referral. Collaborating with your GP first can provide the best individualised wholistic case. Your GP can send your referral securely via Healthlink.
We prefer a referral for these reasons and for you to receive a Medicare rebate where applicable. If any ongoing treatment is needed, Medicare may be able to rebate some associated costs.
We can however, see patients without a referral.
I’ve had a referral for Subi Derm in the past. Can I use that?
It will depend upon whether this referral is current. Simply call our clinic and our friendly staff will be able to check if your existing referral is still valid.
Are all procedures eligible for a Medicare rebate?
No, some procedures are not eligible for a Medicare rebate. We can discuss costs and rebate information with you at your appointment.
What is included in the surgical fees? Do I need private health insurance?
We will happily provide a quote for your surgery. This quote will include the following:
- Instrumentation sterilisation
- Facility charge
- Doctor’s procedural charge
- Sutures, dressings and other disposables
- Suture removal review.
Private health insurance is not required. Your out-of-pocket expense will depend upon the complexity of your surgery, and if you have a valid referral and Medicare.
There will be no out-of-pocket expense for veterans holding a DVA Gold Card or a particular White Card.
